Foreclosure Prevention Counseling

Are you facing foreclosure? Our certified counselors are available to work with you and your lender toward a workable solution.

We are committed to assisting homeowners who are facing foreclosure in Butler and Warren County to protect their biggest asset – THEIR HOME – allowing homeowners to keep their homes and preserve their equity.

Steps to take if you’ve missed a mortgage payment:

  1. Call for help – More than half of homeowners facing foreclosure do not call for help when they fall behind in their mortgage payments.
  2. Don’t make a bad situation worse – Ignoring your situation won’t make it go away.
  3. Notify the bank as soon as you know your payment is going to be late – Calling when you are 30-60 days late is better than calling when you are 120 days late.
  4. Work it out – Depending on the situation, the lender may lower the interest rate, lower the monthly payment, or enter into a repayment agreement for missed payments.
  5. Avoid foreclosure rescues scams by calling us, a nationally recognized organization for assistance.
  • Please note that Foreclosure Prevention Counseling is free of charge; so don't wait until it's too late.
